How about using this charger for my 48 volt conversion.

Hey guys ! I posted in another thread some pics of an older charger that a few of you said was not a really good option. What about this charger to use on my 48 volt conversion ? It looks much more advanced. Lol. I would need to buy a new plug or an adaptor for this one.

Sorry. I Forgot to add ... it’s a 1990 club car DS that I am converting. I think the answer you guys will give me will be ..” since my cart doesn’t have an onboard computer, it probly won’t work”.

That’s an ERIC charger. I would not think the port and receptical would match. I would research the ERIC charger and make sure it’s compatible with just reading a pack voltage to charge and doesn’t need an OBC feedback to charge properly.

I will do a little research. If it just recognizes the pack then I can probly get an adaptor?

Try to find a club car 3-pin receptacle for the cart, it would be the proper one for 48v cart.

You only need the + and - wires from the charger, the ERIC charger does not use a sense wire.

I assume this would work. So all I would need to do is retrofit this onto my cart and plug and play. Sergio, this Eric charger I assume will be much better than this one in the picture.

That receptacle should work fine and the ERIC/Delta-Q is a better charger.

You can plug a regular USB stick on the charger after a charge cycle and then read the log on your computer using their free software:

Yes it is a better charger and in theory you should be able to retrofit

So just to recap. I want to make **** sure I do it right. Lol. This is what I am working with. 1990 club car DS currently running 36v. I will be eventually upgrading to 48volts. As of now, I have bought an alltrax spm 72400, upgraded all cables to 4guage cables, some 10guage wire to replace all my old wires, a 36/48 volt HD solenoid from Scottyb, a pb-6, and I am currently pulling the motor to clean it up and brush off the studs. Sooo.. the only thing I have left to buy is this charger, receptacle, diod,resister, and maybe a new HD forward and reverse. Oh and a 48v battery pack. Then a sh!t ton of wiring and some fabrication and I’ll be good to go. Does that sound about right ?

Other than you having an older 36v->12v converter, that is nothing else left to replace.

You will need to fabricate a way to connect the PB-6 to the throttle linkage, but that should be all of the needed components.

Awesome ! It currently doesn’t even have a 36 to 12 converter. Someone just jacked into the batteries. I will get a 48 to 12 when I finish the conversion. Man I really appreciate all of you guys help ! This was a completely new experience for me and I haven’t even started yet but I feel that I can get ER done once I have it all in my garage. I will keep y’all posted when I really get started. Thanks and have a happy thanks giving !
