Default 48 Volt Precedent new batteries charging to 60+ volts

Help me out guys. I have 2012 Precedent that I just installed 6 new 8 volt Trojan batteries. I have done lots of these so I'm sure the install is correct. This is the first one that I've noticed has a digital volt meter and shows the voltage while charging at 60-61 volts and the charger is not turning off. When I pull the plug on the charger the volt meter and confirmed by my IQDM at 54.5 volts. Is this normal for new batteries? And why is my charger not turning off (used two different chargers). OBC bad maybe ?

That is normal, it may go as high as 64v.

Until you let the charging cycle finish on its own, it will continue to take long as the OBC is establishing the pack baseline health.

Thanks, I've never actually watched a new set charge with a volt meter. I was getting concerned when it topped 60 volts.

Yep voltage as high as 65 (with low amps) is completely normal depending on the stage of charge...
