Default Battery Charge light question

Purchased used 2014 Club Car Precedent 48V PH1349-427028. Question/Issue: When I go the the course 1/4 mile down the road and get to the first hole no issue, get to the second hole and just after coming to a stop the charge light illuminates for about 5 seconds than goes off. This continues from this point on every time I stop. Light does not come on while under power not does it stay on more than a few seconds but it still worries me enough I leave the course and head home. When I bought the cart I was told they were 2016 batteries and all tested good. Looking at the batteries they are all 8V Golf Car brand with an I5 date code. Using a DVOM I get 8.10-8.22 volts from each battery. Am I being to cautious about the battery light or do I need to do more testing to figure out this issue?

Thanks

first off I5 is sept 2015, they may have been put in 2016 but they were made in 2015. Not knowing how they were cared for before you is always a gamble. I would take a complete pack voltage reading after a full charge ,12 hour rest period. then go for a ride with meter on and see what kind of voltage drop under load your getting .

on this chart you can see 8 volt and 48 volt % of charge

PH = Precedent i2 Excel 48V
13 = 2013
49 = Week of manufacture

This is important to know for future reference because the 2013 Precedent still had an OBC (On Board Computer) whereas in 2014 Club Car dropped the OBC and went to an E.R.I.C. charger. You will probably have a PowerDrive charger that looks something like this:

If you did have an E.R.I.C. charger, it would look like this:

Simple question, Whats the volt reading on each battery right after the battery light starts coming on? And pack reading?

Follows Swan's advise as to fully charging: IE plug in charger and allow it to fully charge at least 16 hours. Unplug cart from charger and let sit least 12 hours. Take voltage reading of each battery. The readings you are giving are not very good at all at 55 to 65 % SOC which is very close to being considered DEAD... Remember 8.0 volts is not good it is in fact for all intents DEAD...

Sorry for the delay but work gets in the way every time. OK here are my results

Full 24 hours on charger 48.9V for entire pack. Unplugged and ran down road until charge light came on when stopped...not long maybe 5/7 minutes. Full pack voltage 48.3V. Returned home full pack 47.9V. When testing individual batteries after full 24 hour charge and disconnected from charger battery voltage was 8.27 8.18 8.21 8.22 8.11 8.20. After running no battery was above 8.05 and 3 were at 7.95

I would assume this means the batteries are bad and need to be replaced since even after charging for 24 hours no battery was above 70% charge.

Yup they are on their way out , run them to you cant get what you need out of them and then buy new(remember you get what you pay for it). take time to learn new battery break in procedures so you care for them from day one and get longevity out of them
