Default Club Car Precedent - All the same?

Hi all,

Are all years of the 48 volt electric Precedent the same in terms of body and specs? I know of the 4x12 volt and 6x8 volt but aside from that...same? What is IQ or I2?

Thanks,
Gazoo

They are all very similar but they have a few differences. 2004-early 2008 are all the same. In 2008.5, the i2 body style came out, which introduced a new dash, a new battery bucket capable of using six 8 Volt batteries instead of the 4 12s, a new pedal assembly, and a new drive system (Excel). The Excel system is very similar to the IQ system except for a few minor differences. It offers increased motor braking and is able to provide electronic motor braking down to much lower speeds than the IQ system can. The Excel system is compatible with Club Car's Visage GPS tracking system, the IQ is not.

The IQ and Excel systems were both offered on the Precedent until 2012 or 2013 (Not sure of the exact date). After this, the IQ was discontinued in the Precedent and the Excel was the only option available. In 2014 the E.R.I.C. charging system was introduced and the on-board computer was eliminated from the charging system. The controller itself now logs charge information and lots of other vehicle specific data that the OBC used to record in older models. The "new" Excel controller on cars equipped with the E.R.I.C. charging system are white in color but otherwise look identical to the earlier excel (grey) and their IQ predecessors (black). Vehicle operational "feel" is the same in both versions of Excel.

How do you know if you have an early or late 2008? My project cart i just picked up is a PH serial and 0832 but it does not have any batteries. Is there a certain week code that goes from 08 to 08.5?

Thanks

If your electronics: Controller, solenoid, obc, etc are on the middle of the battery compartment, You have the OLD model.

The newer 2008.5+ Precedents moved the electronics to the back of the battery compartment which allows you to use either 12v or 8v batteries.

Yours is definitely the new model because it has the Excel drive system as indicated by the "H" in your serial number. Excel and i2 came out at the same time.
