Default Charging Issue

I have a 2014 Precedent with 2015 batteries. Have not had any issues with batteries or charging. I had the cart out last Sunday, connected to the charger afterwards and did not see any issue. I left that afternoon on business travel and returned this Thursday night. I noticed the charger was running and that surprised me. My wife did not notice whether it was constantly running or not. I suspect it had been running and not shutting off. The fluid in the batteries were bubbling and they showed full charge. I disconnected the charger for the evening and all day today.

I checked the water levels today and they were a little low. Filled and then connected the charger. They started bubbling again so i disconnected the charger.

Can anyone tell me where the issue may be? I can guess a number of areas but no expert here. Thanks for any help.
Bob

OBC not working right
Or
Relay in the charger stuck, keeping the charger on.

OBC should turn the charger off after the batts are fully charged

Batts may not be fully charging, one (or more) bad battery in the pack could
Cause it too

A 2014 Precedent should not have an OBC. It should be equipped with the ERIC charger. Is your charger a small silver one with a yellow cord? Or a PowerDrive3?

David, I have the PowerDrive3 charger. How or can I check the individual batteries?

What’s the serial number for your cart? And the brand and date code on your batteries?

The cart SN# PH1404-434959
Batteries are PD+ 8V - distributed by Club Car. The label says Pin: 105138301. Each battery has this stamp: C5GBK

Interesting. I was under the impression that ALL 2014s were ERIC cars. Oh well. You need to check the overall battery pack voltage once the charger ammeter drops below 5 amps during a charge. If the pack voltage never reaches at least 58.3 Volts, the charger will not turn off normally because the OBC doesn't feel as if it's completed the job. The MAX timer feature of the OBC should shut it off after 16 hours, but obviously that's not working either. Does the charger stop humming once you unplug it from the cart? If not, you may have a bad charger relay in the charger. You may have to put your hand on the charger to feel if it's humming once you unplug it. If it's not plugged into a battery pack the hum will be very light and barely noticeable.

Club Car started with ERIC mid year.
Like they did with the 2000 carts, when they changed the body.
Club Car makes sure nothing is simple.

You either have a cart with an OBC that uses the Powerdrive charger OR you have a cart without the OBC that uses the ERIC charger. If you are doing any different combination, then you have a problem on your hands

Yeah, I thought about the possibility of him having the wrong charger for his cart too, but the PH serial number indicates it's the OBC system.
