about king pins and bushings
I have a 95 cc 48 volts upgraded to a 2006.. question is that i replaced my kingpin and bushings myself and when i got it back together everything was really tight and steering was hard to turn so i took it back apart and drove the kingpins back out and took some abrasive cloth and took it down a hair and it help alot! you can turn wheel with one hand now is that normal it being that tight with new parts becauce it was making a popping noise when turned before i took it down

Re: about king pins and bushings
spindle bushings need to be reamed out to the exact size before the spindle is installed on the kingpin..

Plus... lets hope you can weld aluminum!!! (it's not the same as steel!) My 98 48V rear "L" angle is starting to rot also, what I did... was a quick fix... I put another 3/4" X 3/4" aluminum "L" angle right on top of it, and bolted down on each end, (making sure a battery won't sit on top of the bolt, or, rub on it!) It may not be the right way... but it's been holding well for the last 4 years! |

Re: about king pins and bushings
the battery racks are easier to take angle aluminum and pop rivet new ones in... safer than welding..

Re: about king pins and bushings
they just put a tack weld there.. usually i cut in half and break off, set the new ones right beside the remaining weld...
