Default Prec conversion from 4, 12V to 6 8V

Who's done a conversion from 4 12V batts to 6 8V on a Club car Prec? Does anyone make a kit?

Thanks

There are a couple threads on the conversion. IIRC you donít need a ďkitĒ, itís not that hard of a DIY job.

I'm about to embark on that same journey as well and have been reading all the tips and getting advice. It seems there are 2 schools of thought out there. One where all that is required is some cutting of the battery tub to fit the new configuration of 8 volts, a couple cables, and away you go. Others will tell you that using your existing charger or the original OBC is not a good idea which does make sense if it was designed for a 4x12 volt configuration. I think I'm going to keep my power drive 3 but put in a newer OBC to be safe. Batteries are not cheap so gonna err on the side of caution and get one that speaks 6x8 volt. (Thanks to Dave H)

Done the conversion many times. Early cars, where the electronics are in the middle, I feel the kits are nice, even though I do some things a little different. 08 and newer cars, are a piece of cake, just remove the plastic piece that snaps into place and the battery box is done. Adding the factory 48 to 12 reducer is the best way to go, yes you pay a little more, but plug and play, and never worry about it again.
