Turn signal install
About to throw in the towel. Can't make the darn things flash. Going to try and load the flasher with a tail light bulb tomorrow. The LED's are not loading the flasher.I tried some 5W 100 ohm resistors, they didn't work. If the light bulbs don't work I'm gonna cruise when my new head and tail lights, and forget the turn and brake lights. Heck I bet I've spent a day trying to figure them out. I bout the turn signal assembly from Everything Carts...nice people.

Re: Turn signal install
Hey its me again Are you using a flasher that is designed to be used with LED lights. A standard flasher wont work with LED's and iti appears you realize that with trying to install resistors...but just make sure it's one designed for LED's. Also, don't assume just because the parts are new, that they are working correctly...remember all parts made in China. I've been burned many times chasing down problems caused by installing parts that were no good from the box.
Are you running all the grounds directly to battery and not just a frame ground?? |

Re: Turn signal install
Heres a link for the thread that had a wiring diagram. The diagram and wire colors were exactly the same as the universal kit I got from Buggies Unl.

Re: Turn signal install
Hey OX thanks. They are all going to what looks to be a factory buss bar ground under the seat. The reducer input and output is grounded there. I am getting solid voltage reading everywhere. I'm going to call ETC today and work on it one more time tonight. Something so easy can be so hard.

Re: Turn signal install
I have the SAME problem- could never get my LEDs to flash- tried about 4 different LED flashers and NONE of them worked. Even tried a special solid state LED flasher with patterns like emergency vehicles use. NOTHING worked. Even bought a special LED flasher from a golf cart store (golfcarcatalog I think) and it didn't work! Please let me know if you find something that works!!!!

Re: Turn signal install
You can't give up... just think about how you'll feel once you've gotten it to work like it should! It's you against the cart... you can't let the cart think you've lost... man against machine kind of thing and man always wins... I THINK!
Good luck and I'm sure you'll get it figured out! |

PS If you use the 1157 you can use a standard or electronic flasher. The electronic flashs alittle faster so I went with it. I'm already liking the forum. Very interesting.. Todd |
