Need help identifying D&D Motor
Just picked up a 6 person stretched DS for a pretty good deal. I get it home and get her good and charged and decide to go on a beer run (as everyone should) The thing is S L O W. It has a D&D ES-5F-21 I have looked everywhere and cant find this motor. Does anyone (maybe Scottyb) know about this motor?
Cart is currently a resistor cart with solenoids, and factory F&R switch. The wiring is not up to my standards but I don't want to put a lot of money in it if the motor is toast. The previous owner and friend confirmed after the shop put in new motor and batts about 1.5 yrs ago the thing was a dog. Another note is the motor says 36/48/72 volt which I have never seen before also. If the motor is good the cart will get an Altrax like my 2 seat DS. Thanks everyone |

Re: Need help identifying D&D Motor
That is a custom motor. Same as ES-5E 100ft pounds with 500 amps. Low speed maximum torque. Higher voltage will yield a couple more MPH
A 6 passenger resistor coil cart has got to be a meltdown looking to happen. |

Yea the rear body shows the signs of heat. Above the resistors even with 6 inch lift it got hot enough to warp.
When you say low speed how low? |

Re: Need help identifying D&D Motor
Well its a mess, whoever stretched it stretched the wiring too, and not in a good way. I just replaced the car store battery jumpers and its better but solenoids are in pretty sad shape along with the hackjob "wire stretch"
Guess this will be like my last cart and be a body off build. Also does anyone know where to buy the middle row seat mounts? The ones on here are bugging me because they don't match the DS lines. Scottyb more of my money coming your way! |

Re: Need help identifying D&D Motor
LOL - It needs a solid state conversion, 48 volts, and an A1 motor

Re: Need help identifying D&D Motor
That motor will work but, if it is more speed you want sell the stump puller and go with the MOT-A1. For a 8 hp torque motor it makes an amazing amount of speed too.
You should be able to sell one and buy the other and only be out about $100. |
