Default Plum Quick Motor 2002 CC DS Series

I have a 2002 club cart ds series 48v cart. It is stock right now. I was thinking of ordering a plum quick motor. My question is do I need anything else to make it go 20-25mph? I am new to the whole golf cart scene. Any help would be appreciated.

I have an '03 DS (48v) that is all stock save for a lift and a PQ Bandit. I get 22 -24 out of it. Note that the larger tires add some speed while removing torque. Stock wheels should get you 20 -22 easy.

Hey Hunting183,

Can you come back here when you're done, and tell me if it's a big pain to replace the motor? I'm a little nervous to try to replace my DS motor.

My motor was 3 bolts and slid right off and out, my PQ slid right on and bolted right and tight.

There are 3 7/16 bolts and if its still present a 1/2 bolt connected to a bracket on the motor toward the bottom front.

The only thing you may run into is the motor being stuck on the input shaft. When this happens it's not a good idea to try to pry it off against the aluminum differential case as it can crack. In the most extreme cases you may need to remove the rear end and get the motor off via the "drop" method. Watch your toes.

With the aid of an assistant, lift the rear end up 3 - 4 feet into the air and drop the rear end onto a concrete floor onto the inverted brake drum. The drum is inverted so you don't damage the wheel studs during this process. The motor will fall off as soon as it hits the ground. If it doesn't, try it again. I've never had to drop one more than three times. Don't laugh. Try it and thank me later.

Whoa. Maybe I just got lucky but mine just popped off. It took all off 15 mins to swap motors.

My gosh that looks harsh.

I might try to fasten a come-a-long to the motor with a couple of ratchet straps and try to pull it off that way.

It is harsh, but no parts were damaged in the making of this video (Except for the motor armature which was already shot anyways)
