Club car intermittent power loss.
I have a 1995 series club car ds 48v
It has been fitted with alltrax axe controller 4855. Heavy duty solenoid and hd fnr lever. Cart moves fast with plenty of torque when running. When it first came to me it would only stop working after you would let off the pedal it just wouldn’t go again, it never cut out while driving. It would only happen once maybe every 15 pedal pushes. I inspected all wiring and connections. Battery voltage was upto 59v fully charged and are 2016 Trojan t 875s. Low amp side seemed to be working as it should however the owner used for hunting and hadn’t replaced anything in over 15 years he claims. So he asked me to replace solenoid as he feels it was the issue I told him I thought was fine but agreed. Before doing so I took vglide apart and cleaned it, boy was it full of dirt and replaced micro switch while I had apart. Once I put back together Cart worked all day with zero issues. Came back in the next morning to move it and nothing. I decided to replace solenoid and Cart was running again. Next day it started kicking in and out if working every other pedal press. Now it isn’t working at all. Every time I press pedal you can hear micro switch and solenoid activate Plus both are now new. When testing voltage solenoid seems to be activating properly and carrying the voltage to the motor terminals. Where should I start testing for the issue next? Vglide assembly, controller, motor And how should I conduct these test? TIA My gut is telling me vglide or fnr switch. |

Go to this site and get what you need to communicate with the controller.

I think you are correct in suspecting a bad motor. Mine '99 did the same after I replaced everything except the motor. When I tore it down, one of the brushes had burned through the brush holder. It would run sometimes then cutout completely. New Admiral A2 motor took care of it. |

Scotty recommended the Admiral for my setup and I'm well pleased with it. I think it was around $420.00 but I bought so much stuff from him, I really don't recall the exact amount. |
