2005 To 2GA cables. A Few Questions
@Sergio Thanks for the diagram!
I am in the process of changing from 4x12v to 6x8v. I am replacing the battery and controller cables with 2ga xylene welding cables. I plan on upgrading to a higher amp controller and motor as time and funding allows, but the cart is quite dissembled now so replacing a wire is fairly easy. S1 blue & S2 orange running from the controller to the motor, would replacing these with a larger gauge cable increase performance in any way? Thanks |

Use the larger gauge wires you removed from A1 & A2 to upgrade F1 & F2. No extra cost.

If you have s1 and s2 I'm pretty sure you have a series drive system. You should make all of them 2 ga.

Re: 2005 To 2GA cables. A Few Questions
The image is from here. it is not displaying correctly for me when I click on it. It is the correct diagram for my cart. A1, Green, and A2, White, are going to be replaced with 2ga cable as are the rest of the battery cables all the way to the motor. I ASSumed the wires running from S1 to F1 and S2 to F2 were for regen. I don't know if there is any benefit in replacing the regen wires. I've read conflicting reports here and other places. My opinion is probably not, but there are many users & dealers here with much more knowledge about it than me so I thought I would ask.

If you have a sepex drive system the field wires are to be 10 ga.

Re: 2005 To 2GA cables. A Few Questions
If you have 1/4" terminals on your motor use 10ga. If your terminals are 5/16" use 6ga.
