Advice on flooded golf cart

Hey all. My 2004 Precedent sat in 48 inches of Harvey soup for 2 weeks (as did all my other worldly belongings). I took it to the shop and they said it’s toast and offered me $150 for scrap.

I’ve kicked around to idea of just using the chassis and turning into a project cart. It could be a fun project to do with the kids. Or should I just buy an unflooded beater and fix it up?

I've got a $3,000ish budget. Thanks!

Well the frame is aluminum so its good, the tires are rubber so they're ts good, the body is composite so its good, the differential is mechanical so it can be pulled apart, flushed and cleaned with the most needed would be seals and bearings. So I would 100% pull it down and see what all I have. I mean this could be a perfect time to upgrade your IQ cart with a new motor, controller, solenoid, (and probably a wiring harness) etc. and be able to have your cart your way.

One thing for sure, $150 was a joke. I would make it a rolling chassis and roll it up and down the hill for my kids before they would get it for $150!

I agree and with a $3,000 budget you should be able todo everything even some extras too.

150 clams won't get you much here, 750$ gets you a carcass you need a rake and shovel to load! You have most all you need already for a repower build. Go for it!

3000.00 is a good stack to play with. You should be able to rebuild it to what it was and have cash left over or spent it all and get a bunch more torque/speed and extras goodies.

If you're willing to upgrade the car then you're willing to replace the two most expensive items on the car already. Flood damage won't hit you near as hard if you're willing to spend the money to upgrade. I've helped several guys fix their flood cars up in the past couple months. $3000.00 should be more than enough to get you up and going again.
