Red face 94 Elect. Club Car DEAD

Hi, bullfrog here, fairly new to the DIY method but not totally in the dark. My cart is a 94 Electric Club Car, 36 Volt. Mod# A9410 370758. Has V-Glide, 1 solenoid, no diode & 5 resistors. Motor is a Series, no OBC, no controller. Anyway I was out last week for a ride, came home for lunch, was going to go out again. Turned the key, pressed the pedal and no movement forward or reverse. There was a clicking noise in forward and the buzzer sound in reverse. Any suggestions of where to start looking for the problem? Sure would appreciate any information anyone might have.

Does the solenoid click? It may be a bad solenoid or a bad microswitch that activates the solenoid.

Maybe a bad key switch or a pulled wire?

Thanks for the fast response! Tested F&R with meter, all is good. If it was the key switch, why would I get the clicking in forward & the buzzer in reverse. I'm fairly sure it is the solenoid that's clicking.

You should get the battery pack voltage on the resistors’ side of the solenoid (one of the large posts) only when the pedal is depressed and the solenoid clicks.

I'm not to good with the meter but I'll try anything. Red or black to the large post? And where does the other probe go?

By the way, can anyone tell me how to jump the solenoid?

Set your meter to DC so it will handle around 36 volts, and then put the black wire from the meter on your main battery negative (the one with a wire going to the charger port) and put the red positive cable on the solenoid. One of the large posts on the solenoid will go to the forward/reverse switch, and one will go to the resistors (or the V-glide wiper speed control). Put your red wire on the "wiper switch side" terminal of the solenoid.

When you press the pedal, the solenoid should click and the meter should show the battery pack's voltage on both sides on the solenoid. While you're not holding the pedal, there should only be pack voltage at one of the large terminals.

Back again finally. Forgot I had removed all cables last night to make sure there was no corrosion on any of them. All cleaned and put back on correct post. Did basically what you said using the ohm on my tester. OK, had key turned to on, put red lead to wiper side of solenoid, black lead to main battery negative side. put in forward, pressed pedal, reading was 0.9. Without pressing pedal got no reading at all. Should I assume the solenoid is no good? Do you know how to use a jumper cable to see if it runs by passing the solenoid completely?
