Default ERIC charger mounting to cart.

Has anyone ever "permanently" mounted their ERIC charger to the cart and if so do you have any pictures of the mounting location and set up. I thought instead of buying an onboard charger, the ERIC is fairly small and I think you could move the plug in port to somewhere inside the battery box (or other location other then the current location) and then you can pull up to any outlet and charge. Any thoughts on this?

There was a guy a while back who mounted it above the motor by making a platform. He documented the project pretty well. All I can remember about him is that he was from Galveston. Search Galveston to find a name and search his posts. Sorry best I can do.

Technically the default location for the charger in the onboard version is mounted to the seat bottom above the batteries. Not sure if I like that or not. If that is done there is a cover that mounts over the charger that replaces the handle.

I’m not buying that as a solution that is possible due to clearance. Club Car has to realize that even the ERIC Charger needs 4 or more inches of clearance. I would doubt there is that much clearance under the seat for the batteries. I’d have to see that to believe that. Not to mention the heat build up in an area where off gassing occurs.
Building a sturdy mount between the rear body / roof support tower under the cart and above the engine is by far a better option. Allows more air flow and conceals the Charger.

Never work. I just measured and I have 2.5 inches clear from the bottom of the seat to top of battery. The ERIC charger is 3.25" tall. I may make some sort of mount near the battery to mount it and go from their. Will be awhile as I just got my Madjax rear seat, allsports lift, springs, wheels, bumber and a bunch of other goodies I have to install.

Post when you do mount it. Should be easy enough to find a spot. I knew the seat mount wasn’t an option. Thanks for confirming.

I am just statin what I saw in the 2014 Parts Manual. It's not 100% clear but there is nothing else in the picture it relates to. FYI, they show the older club car rear seat kit but that doesn't line up with the picture shown either. I included it so you can see.

I am about to buy a spare and most it in the bagwell since I have a door on mine under the rear seat. Looking on Amazon I found a surface mount plug to put in the door so I can just use a normal extension cord to plug in. Wiring to the batteries I am going to do pretty much what is shown in the picture but still leave the charge port wired up. In my garage I need to be able to charge from that location and I can then just have the other ERIC charger wall mounted.

Hunter99, that is the rear facing seat bottom on a 4 passenger model, not the one over the batteries.

my question to all this is , can the ERIC charger take the day to day bumps of driving the cart . granted some of us are easier then others but I cant see it taking the abuse I would give it .
