Default 2000.5 club car ds suggestions

Hi everyone. I am in the process of building a club car ds for hunting and yard work. I have just installed a 6 inch lift and 22” tires. I also just dropped in NAPA batteries that were pulled out of a beast 48 cart that are about a year old. I am looking at swapping out the controller for a fsip 500 or 700. My question though is does the solenoid or f/r switch need to be changed also? (What all needs to be changed to support 48v and 500-700 amps). Also, if anyone is familiar with the fsip controllers, how much of a difference would the 700 make over the 500? I’m not currently looking to change the motor. I plan on running the stock motor till it fails me.

I built a 97 txt a few years ago with an alltrax 400 controller and 8v batteries that would lift the front right tire about 3-4 inches on takeoff lol. Wish I had of kept that one.

Controller, solenoid, F/R switch, all high amperage cables. I am not familiar with FSIP controllers but if it was mine I would be buying an Alltrax controller package from one of the site sponsors.

I would love to but on a serious budget after the tires and lift and batteries. If I use a sw-180 solenoid with the fsip 500 controller does the solenoid require a diode and resistor. If so, is the required resistor and solenoid different than the stock versions?

Would installing a bigger bus bar on the factory f/r switch be the same as a hd switch.

I have a 700 amp controller and love it ! Yes the F/R will need to be changed to a HD one (the rocker block will melt ) I know I went though 3 of them . The controller is very simple and pretty much plug and play. I would suggest going to 2ga battery cable to handle the amps. My stock 3.1 hp 36 volt GE motor lasted over 4 years before it melted the S1 stud off of it and the stock CC solenoid last 9 years before it gave out .

Well I ordered the 500 amp controller. Got a really good deal on it. Also have the fwdrev switch and solenoid on the way too. Can’t wait for it to get here. I really wanted to spring for the 700 but it is what it is.

The factory controller is 225a. I think the 500 should make a tremendous difference. And definitely enough to drag deer out of the woods lol
