2003 Club Car Pathway - dumb questions
Hi,
I'm about to come into free ownership of the above buggy! I've gleaned some stuff from your awesome forum, but was hoping someone might be able to help with specifics. Please be gentle. I've popped over to look at it today and apart from dead batteries (its been sat for 8 months plus in cold ish conditions) and no charger that i have managed to find yet my first problem was moving it! I've managed to put it into tow mode, took off the handbrake but it still is locked in place and won't move, i assume i've forgotten something? Whilst i was sitting atop this mighty buggy, the seat closed and make a locking noise and now refuses to open. I checked and checked for some sort of release mechanism and can find nothing! Any ideas? Thanks for anyone willing to answer above dumb questions, i'll be borrowing a trailer in the next few days to get it home, so the real fun can begin. I have some pics, but can't post them yet :( |

I don't see anything that looks like a latch or lock under the seat.

Also sounds like your brakes may be locked up or the motor

You are trying to pick the back side of the seat up right?

Re: 2003 Club Car Pathway - dumb questions
Well, a couple of things here:
Are you sure you have a Club Car Pathway? A Pathway is nothing but a Club Car DS that has been modified a bit for street-legal use. My concerns are: 1) There are no hand brakes on Club Car DS (Pathway) but there is a turns signal lever that kinda looks like a hand brake. Did you mistake the turn signal for a brake? 2) There is no locking mechanism for the seat. Is there any way you can snap a pic so that we can confirm what you have? If, indeed, you have a Pathway the seat should just pop up. If not you may have just slammed too hard or something and might need to be gently pried up. Again, no hand brakes. The parking brake is the top portion of the brake pedal. Stepping on the accelerator pedal should release it. |

Jack up the rear wheels and see if they will turn freely. If not, your drums have seized up to the shoes and you will need to let some one sit in side (for additional base weight) and rock it back and forth from the front and back until you brake them loose. I have had this happen several times.

Re: 2003 Club Car Pathway - dumb questions
Hey Nole,
Do regular DSs have 4 wheel drum brakes on them? I only have a Pathway and it has 4 drums. My cart rolls stiff the first time out after winter storage but it loosens up quick after a drive. I can't recall if all DSs have 4 drums or if that was just a Pathway thing. |

It is an add-odd for regular DS's. (and usually it is disc at that point) |
