Solenoid Clicks but cart does not move, QP0399 Pathway Golf (IQ-P)
Bought this cart a few months ago.
You guys identified it as a DS frame, 2003, 48v. Pics of cart here: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...golf-iq-p.html Since I bought the cart, every now and then you press the accelerator and hear the solenoid click, but the cart won't move. Typically I would push the brake and try again a few times and it would click and run. This would happen in FWD or REV. So last night the cart stopped moving period. You press accelerator and the solenoid clicks, but cart does not move at all. I must have tried 100 times. I am new to these electric carts and have been reading through the threads this morning on similar issues. First I assume I need to test the solenoid, right? I read (from a NoleFan4Ever post) that it needs 48+ and 48- on the small terminals with the pedal pressed down? I assume after it clicks the big posts should show continuity or have voltage across them? So mine has one of those charge indicator gauges on the dash. When you press the pedal, and the solenoid clicks, it goes down slightly as if maybe it is connecting the motor to the circuit. Now I also read the Foot Pedal Brake/Accelerator pedal assembly needs to send correct throttle signal (from a post from scottyb), "3 things have to happen to power up the series controller and allow the motor to draw amperage. 1. solenoid has to engage and this engagement must send full power to controller B+ 2. (+) power to controller pin #1 3. correct throttle signal to controller pins 2 & 3" Please steer me in the right direction and help me understand better how this thing works! Oh, and is the "950348vuv0.jpg" diagram the right one for my cart? Anyone got a higher res one I can print out. That one is awfully small and hard to read. Thanks in advance! |

Here http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...tml#post890814 is your specific wiring diagram. You can click on it twice and it will magnify.
I am not sure of scottyb's post you refer to, but you have a sepex cart (IQ) not a series cart so just remember they are different. Follow the normal tests such as the solenoid, speed sensor, wiring terminals, etc. trace back power connections as some times something has worked loose. |

Re: Solenoid Clicks but cart does not move, QP0399 Pathway Golf (IQ-P)
Well that is good news. I will definitely check all the wiring when I get home tonight. I appreciate suggestions like these so at least I have a place to start. Someone installed the rear seat on my cart. Am I going to be able to access the solenoid? I am not sure where it is located since I really haven't looked through the wiring yet. Was just trying to put together a plan...

It is behind the battery compartment attached to the aluminum cross member. You will have to remove the rear seat to access the panel or remove the batteries and lay a pad down and place the cart over on its side...

You are correct, does not matter except for battery cable configuration....

Re: Solenoid Clicks but cart does not move, QP0399 Pathway Golf (IQ-P)
You should be able to jump your solenoid with a jumper cable. Just connect the cable to to each of the solenoid's large posts. All this really does is take the key switch out of play. If it runs when you hit the accelerator then your solenoid is likely bad. If still nothing then see if you are getting 48v at the small solenoid terminals with the switch on. If nothing then your switch might be bad or a wiring issue. You probably know this but solenoids are nothing more than switches that allow a low current circuit (from the key) to open a high current circuit (the motor). You can open the high current circuit manually with a jump but nothing should happen until you press the pedal. If none of this works then something else is amiss which a real expert will have to chime in on.
A disclosure, I have a Pathway but I won't claim to be an expert with it. I am applying knowledge from my other carts here. If I am off-base I apologize and hopefully someone else will chime in with a correction. I am only trying to throw you some information. |

If I jump the solenoid like you suggest, I only need one rear tire off the ground when jacked up right? I am assuming these things have some type of limited slip rear?
