Runs in Tow Mode
I have a 2006 club car ds that now when I put the Tow/Run switch in Run mode, the cart runs but won't respond to the key switch. I replaced the key switch to no avail. When I switched over to Tow mode, the key switch works and the cart runs fine. Run mode still runs the cart without the key switch having any effect. Suggestions?

Re: Runs in Tow Mode
This scenario can happen if you have a 16v->12v reducer but You are not using the pack negative for the reducer.
You can easily verify if that is the case by disconnecting the small gray wire with a bullet connector that is coming off the bucket harness 12-pin connector on the passenger side of the dash. |

Ah, no 12 pin bucket harness found. Any other suggestions?

Re: Runs in Tow Mode
Sorry about the 12-pin connector, I was thinking of a Precedent.
The scenario still applies though, do You have a 16v->12v reducer or are tapping individual batteries for accessories? Do You have any other wires (in addition to the cables) connected to any individual batteries? |

Yes, a USB charger the dealer added. I removed the aux wires from the battery, and no change.
I also unplugged the tow run switch to check it. Key switch works; turn off, no response. Turn key on, it runs. Bad tow run switch? |

Re: Runs in Tow Mode
OK, replaced tow run switch. No luck.
Cart tow mode works when key off....no power to pedal. Cart will run though with key switch off. When key on, the cart runs in both tow and run mode....forward and reverse. Any other suggestions? |

Hang on until Sergio see this post. He has solved this problem before, I can't remember what it was.
