Default 2000.5 CC DS progress update

I finally got back on the DS. I found a key and switch on ebay that I really liked but the hole was not right. I made an adapter that I'm going to epoxy into the existing switch hole that makes the new switch fit nice. i then cut out for the volt meter and battery light. About 2 hours work start to finish.

Got paint on the CC DS. I used the Rustoleum farm equipment paint with Valspar hardener, and thinned with acetone. This is oil based paint that is very durable. It sprayed pretty good. I kept adjusting the amount of reducer and the pressure but there was more orange peel than I wanted. It was slow to dry so I let it sit for a week and then color sanded it with 1500. It sanded well and smoothed out nice. I tested a spot with compound and was quite pleased with the shine. I'll buff it after the body is mounted to the cart. It is very slick. It's a little more work but $18.00 for 2 quarts makes the additional work worthwhile.

And I got 1 quart last week for a friends DS. 1qt enamel, reducer, hardener, and flex additive was $140 at the buddy/buddy rate from Single Source. I "hoped" one quart would be enough, but if you needed 2, I may have to go buy another....

1 quart was plenty. It is packaged 2 quarts from Home Depot for 17.88.

I never liked the way the DS nose looked, so I blacked it out below the leading edge. My LED headlight bar mounts above the bumper. The cutouts are for the DRL/turnsignals. I've wet sanded it but it hasn't been buffed. The cheap Rustoleum farm implement paint looks pretty good.
