Default Need a Guinea Pig, Alltrax XCT300 for PowerDrive Plus (Regen 2)

I spoke with Ron Manns at Alltrax today. For those of you who are unfamiliar with it, the Alltrax XCT, their newest version of the Sepex controllers, is currently unavailable for the Regen 2 (PowerDrive Plus) vehicles. For those of you who have this system, the previous procedure required you to rip the harness out of the car and replace it with an IQ wire harness in order to install the XCT IQ controller. They've been working on the PD Plus version XCT and have come out with their new version, but don't have a test car. If someone would like to volunteer to try their new PD Plus controller, it's yours. Do not PM me about this. I have limited space in my mailbox as it is. Please reply here and I'll work out a deal with the first eligible candidate to respond. The controller is an XCT-300 Amp PDP version, so all 6 gauge factory wiring will work without upgrading anything else. You must be capable of running the Alltrax toolkit on a laptop PC and must be willing and able to provide data from the controller to provide to Alltrax if they need any information. You must also be able to provide pictures of your installation. Thanks.

I’d be all over it! I don’t have an old regen cart though.

Yeah, I think that's part of the issue. Most of the people here who have them have already converted to IQ. It's been standard procedure for years to convert them.

Yes. This is going to be great for people with that system though. What about the Regen 1?

Nothing in the works for that system at this time, but a simple wiring adapter will convert the Regen 1 harness to the Regen 2 harness, so only one controller would really be necessary. I can order the wire adapter from Club Car if any Regen 1 guys wanna try it in the future.

Your the expert but I would think the no-run-tow on Regen 1 (therefore timeout circuit in the old black tee shaped controller) might also be an obstacle to making this new controller compatible with Regen-1.

I am still running my all original T-shape Black Regen-1 successfully (used for golf only). One day, if Alltrax gets courageous enough to make the attempt, I'd be a good candidate for conversion of Regen-1 (still running POT-Box too).

The wiring adapter that comes with the Regen 1 to Regen 2 conversion kit allows the Regen 2 controller to operate exactly like the Regen 1, with no tow switch. I see no reason why it wouldn't operate the same way on an Alltrax PDP controller with the same adapter. On a Regen 1, turning the key off has the same effect as flipping the tow switch to tow.

We have a winner. Thanks for playing.

I will update everyone on how this works out. If it works well, they will go into production and will be for sale soon.
