Im sorry I did spew a little I am new to the site. I work for an EZ-GO Dealer for about ten years. The 05 batteries we get a bunch of junk batteries for some reason. We just bought a fleet of 14 had five bad sets. We bought another fleet of 14 from another course and had 8 bad sets These were all MI carts. They do not get the use of a southern cart. We also had a fleet of 12 last year that the had all new batteries. Are area rep from E-Z-GO sad there was a problem that year bought trojan will not addresses it. I now that is only one person experience. Bought I now the batteries last longer then 3 years because I got a fleet of 2003 with all good batteries.

How important is that black wire going from the OBC to the controller...the 8 or 10ga wire, not the battery neg that passes through??

And could I have done damage when half of my battery cables were 4ga and half were 6ga when I tried to charge them? What happens when you connect different gauge wires together?

Let's see what happens when wire of 2 diff sizes are hooked together. If smaller to larger not much most of the time, larger to smaller hmmmmmmmmm can we say FIRE.

Problem Solved:

It was the direction of the black battery neg wire going through the OBC. Switched the direction and now my batteries are charging like a bull in heat.

You have just got to like this Extracter guy!! He has the guts to try anything. And he is not hung up on having to ask for help. It makes my day to read one of his new threads plus adds to my "try or don't try" lists. He will one day be able to give an answer on just about any problem you can have with a CC electric. I'll bet he keeps things loose around Stuart, Fl.
