I'll be sending email to Wong again tomorrow and I'll wait until the 20th to take whatever action I can.

I did pay via PayPal and will still complain to PP if Wong does not make good on replacing the meter. I'll also provide negative feedback and also complain to eBay which will not want to support a bad vendor.

Although only around $20, it will be my first time being burned via eBay. I've been happy with 3 cars, a truck and a boat and a bunch of other stuff found on eBay.

Just sent this note:

Mr. Wong

I assume you have received my return package by now.

I'll wait until the 20th before contacting PayPal for a refund, providing eBay negative feedback and contacting eBay management about your store.

FYI: There are four other similar cases with you mentioned on the very popular www.buggiesgonewild.com forum.

pjshane,

His very last email to me, I THINK states that I'll get a refund after this fiasco for $14.50. Again it's not the money, it's that he has changed his story back and forth, over and over. There are still 2 others besides yourself that haven't left feedback on him and I'm giving him until the 17th to refund my money. If not I believe they will be posting NF's on their purchases.

And as the world turns...

I'm going to leave the response he sent me Thursday evening along with what I sent him:

“If you can file insurance it's better. Otherwise, we can refund you.”

When sending back the meter through the Post Office I never took insurance as you can see by the picture below. All I asked was for either a meter to replace the bad one and after your suggestion, a refund. So by reading this you are stating that you will refund the money paid for the meter then everything will be fine.

Please understand that from a consumers point of view, once you knew that I did return the meter, whether you received it or not by showing the actual receipts from the USPS along with the confirmation that it did arrive, and knowing that the meter would be useless to you since it’s defective, why wouldn’t you want to take care of the customer and complete your return policy.

Enough said on my part as well if you will finalize this transaction with a refund. There would be NO other reason for me to pursue any other actions once I receive a refund for the defective meter. I’ll also let the others know that you did the right thing! So there is no misunderstanding, the lower dollar of the three meters I purchased from you is fine, $14.50.

Thanks,

Ted :)

First from Wong after many emails back and forth:

I'm telling you nothing but the true. I'm not here trying to steal your money and go. I sell more things over $100, why would I steal $17.5 or $14.5 but not the $100.

We did search for the whole office but we couldn't find it. If you can file insurance it's better. Otherwise, we can refund you. I think you missed the whole point here, I never said that I won't refund you or send you the meters, it's just that you're SO hot temper and being so MEAN!! You're not willing to talk or to understand the problem, nor did you listen to what I said. All in your mind is that I took your money and go!!

Anyway, do whatever you want to do as we have done nothing wrong. It's most likely that you the USPS mixed up the package or you may receive a re-bounced package.

That's all I can say, and this is the last email I email you, unless we recover the package. The more I said, the more you get upset as you didn't listen. So, I better shut up!

From me after his nasty email on the 9th:

You love to call a paying customer all sorts of names don’t you? Childish is what you’re doing here by all the name calling. I’m glad that you stated in this email that many of your customers had actual delivery confirmations showing delivered to your place of business yet YOU claim they were never received. Wow, that’s greater odds then even winning a lottery, the USPS making so many mistakes… it couldn’t possibly be that your company lost the packages... nope… couldn’t be! LOL

Thanks for that information and I’m sure PayPal and eBay will like to see a trend in telling customers to collect from their “missing by verified delivered” insured packages instead of your company having to send out another product as well as paying shipping charges. I’ll be sure to include this email in the dispute I’ll file tomorrow unless you find my mysterious missing package and make good on what you advertise on eBay and in your emails. You’ve just incriminated yourself by admitting this has happened MANY TIMES.

I’ve got every email that has gone back and forth including a few of your RUDE statements, (of course after getting a couple of NF’s about your defective products. These emails also include the fact that the original reason for return of the first meter was the defective Dip Switch. Yet you posted:
Reply by coldfusionx: He burned the 3 meters by mistake and blame on us. We still let me return

Both lies since the meters weren’t burned nor did you honor your return policy! All of this just shows that you’ll do and say anything to keep the $17.50 instead of doing the right thing and honoring your return policy! And a few of the several friends that also purchased these meters from my original positive posts on a forum have defective meters, (2 with dip switch issues and 1 with sporadic display issues.) They are also following what is happening here before they request an RMA and send back their meters.

6-30-2009 Can you tell me what did you order or at least tell me the item# so I can check the record

6-30-2009 No problem. If we haven't sent yet, I'll make sure they will do it this afternoon (Why did it take 8 days to find out that the meter was never received by you then after you stated below on the 7th of July that your staff sent it out?)

7-7-2009 I talked to my staff and he said that he shipped it out already

(I thought you said that you never received it? So why did you state that your staff already sent it out as show above in the email written on 7-7-2009 ?)

I'm out of country now but I told you that we would take care you case.
So, why you NF us?????????!!!!!!

If you don't like it, I can issue you a refund, why you act so mean!

If you can't remove the NF, sorry, then there is no more talk between you and me. But I'll still take care your order but that's all!
By the way, I don't have any cause that 2 or 3 in a row defective. It's user don't know how to use it and burn it.
I have done my best but in return, your response is not acceptable.

7-8-2009 I hate to deal with people like you.

Forget it, I'm going to refund it once I received a confirmation of receiving frm my staff
You're being such rude and no more deal here, what a big deal to this deal, you're making it like the world is ended.

(And 20 minutes later the next email I get, all of a sudden, states your staff never received my returned and confirmed by the USPS defective meter.)

7-8-2009 I checked with my staff, there is NO packages received from you
You better file insurance claim as we never received your return. That's the reason why we didn't ship you replacement. Then you NF us without asking a reason!

You're such a mean person and so demanding, we no longer want to deal with you!

So once again I’m asking for you to do the right thing and either send out a NEW and properly working meter or, as you stated twice before, a full refund. Please let me know by tomorrow so I know whether I have to pursue other avenues to get what I have paid for but don’t have in my possession
.

blaynef13,

Since I started this thread with a good recommendation from this eBay'r, several members have purchased meters from him. I felt showing the other side was also the right thing to do as well. If he would have honored his agreement without all the bull there would only be the issue of the latest batch of defective meters, (major problem.) Now he has both to contend with.

pjshane,

It would be a nice gesture if you also would include to Mr. Wong that unless I also receive either a replacement meter, (hopefully GOOD this time,) or a refund that you still would give him a negative feedback. I know it's pushing it a bit for you and I don't want to cause you NOT to get a refund or meter exchange but that also might push him to do the right thing for me as well. He already has 3 negative feedbacks this month and 1 more for sure from another member if he doesn't do the right thing for both of us! Your's then would be #5 for the month... ouch
