Default 96 club car very slow

Ok the cart is 48v, just started working on it these past few days. Let it fully charge overnight and went to test this afternoon. The cart is very slow (I would say less than 5-8 mph) and when going up any incline I could walk faster than it driving. I got it home and put it back on the charger(currently charging at 15 on the charger meter). I felt the silinoid, motor, obc, speed controller and each batt and all were cool after about a 10 minute run. Any advice on what I should check going forward would be helpful. Thank you.

Check the Pack Voltage ~12 hours after it is charged, it should be 50.9vdc to be 100% charged. If it is low, check each individual battery.

Then carry your DVM with you (unless you have one installed on the cart) and have it clipped to the main pack + & - so you can monitor the voltage. See what you have when you are feeling the drop and again when you go up an incline or put a load on it.

My guess is your pack is weak or a bad battery in the pack. This test will tell you for sure.

Ok,,,, all the batts together are 44.4v. I only have 4-12v batts in it because I got them for free. #1 is 12.85v, #2 is 12.86v, #3 is 6.25(bad), #4 is 12.52. Are the other batts good at those levels if I replace batt #3? Nole thanks again for the help and guidance. Is their anything else I should check that I’m not aware of.

12.73 is needed per battery to have 100% charge and to reach 50.9 on the pack for 100%. So yes, if you want to get you one good used battery, it will get you by, but battery #4 is weak also and it will be the weak link in your pack.

So if money is an issue right now, get you one to get you by and then start planning on budgeting for a pack replacement down the road.
