Recommendations on upgrades needed
I have a 2000.5 DS 48V that I just got and took it on its first camping trip. It has what I believe to be a 6" lift with 22" tires. On flat ground it performed ok with just me, my son and a dog, but I want to put a rear seat on and carry the entire family. About 1000 lbs total. With just me and my son it really struggled going up a hill. So the question, what motor/controller upgrade would you suggest to carry 1000 lbs in hilly campground terrain. I already have 2 gauge cables installed.
Thank you, Keith |

Re: Recommendations on upgrades needed
CartsUnlimited for your upgraded controller. Definitely want this at least a 500 amp controller/solenoid. Email ScottyB on CartsUnlimited website and tell him what you want and he will tell you exactly what you need. They also sell motor upgrades but I would suggest you send motor to plum quick motors (Google it) and have them rebuild yours. It's called the Bandit motor on their website.

For your application under those circumstances I would defer to the experts who deal with that situation.
Contact Revolution or Carts Unlimited. You can find them here and they will help you. |

Re: Recommendations on upgrades needed
I started with a 2000.5 DS as well. Mine was a sepex -Regen 2 controlled cart. David (site sponsor) with Revolution Golf Cars convinced me to go with the 500amp Alltrax controller, Admiral MOT-A4 torque motor and HD solenoid. Very satisfied and highly recommend if you're carrying that much weight and climbing hills.
