Caroche with DS skin?
Well against my girlfriends wishes i took on another project with little background on the electrical component and drivetrain ect. On the Facebook Marketplace I came across an add for what i thought was a DS for $350. Inquired some more.. got talking with the older gentleman lost track what I was even inquiring about next thing I found myself 45 minutes away backing into his driveway. So instead of crawling underneath and looking at everything I know I should as I've dealt with an EZ-GO project first that came out good but it was also 2001. In my head I had to justify this card at first glance thinking oh it's a DS and it has an aluminum frame and a back seat and a footrest and some tail lights and headlights. Front end was a little beat up found another one for $50 if I needed to replace which I will or do a body kit. It came with a charger as well so I figured the cart as is with no batteries was worth it due to the fact I've had a brand new set of u.s. batteries sitting here for over a month waiting to find a home$ 430. I've been searching for a clubcar because my one friend has a DS lifted 6in and my other good friend has a precedent..lifted the same. I know the DS my friend has is the old resistor setup with the V Glide it's an 89 I believe. Slow as nails compared to my EZ-GO but reliable and I didn't want to Shell out the money for a precedent so I thought I might have found a bargain. Well upon further inspection this is much older than what I suspected I've looked in the proper areas to ID this cart. Tag missing on frame. Nothing on dash or below. Checked passenger side as well. Now I haven't done the wash yet. So there may be something hidden beneath some grime. At this point I'll stop with my long story and post some pictures it explains the rest to anyone that will know what this is exactly I thought it was some form of hybrid or a Back to the Future caught in some Mandela effect! Lol. The wiring schematics seems pretty easy except I'm used to a controller and it being a lot simpler on the EZ-GO for some reason my brain is not computing a few wires and where they should go and I could really use some help battery placement almost seemed and still does seem slightly hard to figure out I just don't want anything hooked up wrong to cause a solenoid to fry I wanted to do an initial test to see if maybe I hit the pedal and it went on the first try so here I go guys hope someone can chime in with some help much appreciated! This is coming from a guy I'm probably like many others lurking in the background on this forum and always gaining knowledge and a good laugh from the great group of contributors! Its a 36v with a balord motor that i know of so far. 5 solenoids. And I know those wires and nuts need to be changed on anything that's corroded
I probably should be pulling all connections apart I doing a quick clean up but I won't be devastated if that causes a problem at first may go to a solid state. I had a Yamaha G1 that was worse than this as far as corrosion and before I knew a thing about a cart I ran that for a year and never quit actually had great battery life power and range. I was just hoping to be able to put the batteries in and connect those 4 wires that have a home gas pedal is freed up along with brake pedal now the brakes will be address when I get to them I've spent a few hours on that subject already and learned a lot and as of now it's rolling freely. Any suggestions on possible ideas how to make this a rockin fun cart either lifted or street rod I'm all for it especially love pics. And furthermore thanks again for reading my novel that I said I was going to stop. If someone could tell me where those wires need to be attached to whether it's on a napkin with little squares drawn out for the batteries be greatly thankful! Re: Caroche with DS skin?
Motohustle that does indeed look like a Caroche with a DS front end. (Unless some of the early DS's had hydraulic brakes?)
Look in the "stickies" under Club Car Electric for wiring diagrams. Also, is it just me/my computer, or your post is showing up about 5 times wider than normal? |

Re: Caroche with DS skin?
I'm using the app on my Samsung Galaxy the pictures I know came out upside down and backwards that seemed. The rear end seems to be a DS as well I'm sorry the rear body is what I meant. I just and I've seen a few others just like this and by the looks it's almost like it was Factory the one thing I noticed I haven't seen is anyone having 2 front leaf springs. I've been through the wiring diagrams in the stickies. And I'm sure I've looked at the right one for some time now and I've seen the batteries installed with what I would think to be my setup but everyone either has different color cables or I'm not see exactly where they're going to. I almost feel like I'm dyslexic looking at this cuz it's quite simple with just a few wires that are left this is how I picked it up it almost to seem like batteries need to be dropped in and give it a test. I feel like maybe I've read too many posts and lost myself LOL cuz I can do my EZ-GO blindfolded. Thank you for taking the time to help me with this
