Newbie Prescident Question
Hello, newbie here looking to buy a CC Prescident Cart. Had a couple questions. I’m looking at a 2015 JE model. It’s 2 passenger set up as a traditional golf cart. Is there any difference between the factory 2 and 4 passenger other than the seating? Just trying to figure out if I can add a fold down back seat to this and be ok or is there any reason to look for a factory 4 passenger cart? Also, are OEM CC fold down seat kits available? I definitely need space for 4 with the possibility of stretching it to 6 later. Also would this cart be Excel or IQ control? Thanks!

Re: Newbie Prescident Question
No difference other than factory installed HD springs to support the additional weight that I know of.
That is an I2/Excel cart and does have the ERIC charging system. There is a host of aftermarket or OEM seat kits available. |

Re: Newbie Prescident Question
Thank you! How difficult would it be to obtain and install the factory HD springs? Is there a good resource for OEM parts? I’m having trouble finding one. Also, am I Ok with the Excel system? Can I do performance enhancements to the Excel? Thanks Again, I really appreciate the advice!

Re: Newbie Prescident Question
One other question- what is the average lifespan of the batteries? Is there a good AGM battery option so I don’t have to deal with water in the batteries? Thanks!

Batteries vary so much it is hard to have a conversation without it coming a debate. Basically you pretty much get out of them what you put into them. If you get a major name brand like US Batteries or Trojans, you will get longevity as long as you maintain them well. A well maintained set of quality batteries can yield 5 to 8 years of good durable capability. I am on my 8th year this month of US Batteries, but I have seen the last few months my charges are longer and my drops are faster, so I am not out yet, but I do know the end is coming sometime in the future. In regards to FLA, AGM, Lithium, etc. Research, research, research.... |

Re: Newbie Prescident Question
Install the fold down seat and then determine if you need HD springs. Unless you are hauling a couple of heavy weights in the back chances are your current spring will be fine. You'll know after you install the seat and have someone ride in it. HD springs are a pretty stiff ride!

Re: Newbie Prescident Question
Dual Action springs are an option as well. Think standard springs with a helper spring.
I did exactly what you are looking to do. Take your time and have fun. |

Re: Newbie Prescident Question
Thanks for all the advice! I'm definitely having trouble finding OEM Club Car parts online which is a little suprising. I guess you have to go to a dealer? I'd just like to compare price and design of OEM to Aftermarket.
As far as testing this cart, as long as it drives fine, it should be good to go? Anything else to look for? Seems like its in good shape. A 2015 model with original batteries. Everything looks clean. Thanks Jason |

Re: Newbie Prescident Question
As mentioned, RevolutionGolfcars.com can get You any OEM part.
There are many aftermarket components that are better than OEM, but not most made in China. If the cart came from a Golf Course, the 2015 batteries are shot since they already have most of their chemical elements depleted by the number of discharge/charge cycles. |
