2007 precedent dies out beeper sounds - solved
this is just a post to share a solution to a problem i was having, as i couldn't find the answer when i searched:
issue: cart runs around fine for a few minutes and then dies, beeper sounds at this time. will not move for approx 30 min then will run around fine again. searches of previous posts led me to test the speed sensor, as the cart behaved sort of like going into limp mode. this lead to the "roll cart beep test" (for checking the speed sensor) had a bit of an aha moment when I figured out that the random beeps i was getting when it died were speed dependent. further testing showed that the solenoid would stick on. which I have to assume was telling the cart to throw a "main welded" code and stop the cart. letting the cart sit for 30 min or so and the soleniod would slowly release and then work fine until some good current was run through it. solution: replace the solenoid. |

Re: 2007 precedent dies out beeper sounds - solved
Just a few clarifications, a bad speed sensor does not stop the cart, just puts it in "limp mode" which is 50% power or about 8mph with stock components.
If the Solenoid contacts stick closed, next time You press the pedal the Controller will not detect a rise in voltage in the B+ terminal and it will throw a "main welded" error code which puts the cart in "limp mode" as well. Neither of these conditions generate a sound from the reverse buzzer. If while driving the Controller detects the voltage on B+ dropping, it assumes the Solenoid opened by itself and it generates a "main drop-out" error code. The Controller then removes power from the Armature, initiates dynamic brake and quickly sounds the buzzer. Glad You got the cart working |
