Default Advice on buying a 2005 Club Car DS

I have never owned a golf cart before, so bear with me if I don't include all relevant information. I have been offered a 2005 Club Car DS that appears to have been used as a golf course owned vehicle. The batteries are from 2014 and still work and I have been told they still hold a charge well. It is a 48v model, runs well and comes with a charger. They are asking $1500. Does this sound reasonable? If I haven't provided enough information to give a recommendation, please let me know what additional questions I should ask.

It is a pretty stock model without any of the high end additions I have seen on much more expensive models (lift kit, rims, dashboard, etc.)

Thanks again in advance!!!

Tom

That is probably in the ball park, but you will need batteries down the road and that is most likely an IQ cart and has 4x12's in it so you are looking around ~$700 to ~$750 when the times comes.

If it is in good condition (seats, tires, paint, etc.) I would buy it after haggling a little on the price. If it is not in that good of shape, I would be up front and tell him you are looking at the ~$750 soon plus anything else you identify during inspection.

And I have an '07 DS and an '08 DS, both IQ carts with 4x12's and they are great.

Thanks. Is this a good cart to modify as I go along? I plan on adding rear seats, lighting, a radio, a lift kit, etc. One of the reasons I am considering an older, cheaper cart is to have some fun playing with it.
