1997 Club Car 48 Volt OBC
Just ran across possible problem with a new OBC and 4 guage wiring installed and now OBC wont control charger and OBC supplier wont warrantee OBC because he claims that heavy wiring would damage the unit?
The wiring was installed through OBC and then end was installed so there would be NO DAMAGE done to unit. It was only a light push to thread wire through OBC without end. Is this correct as I have installed several of these without any problem by waiting to install end after putting wiring through OBC? Am I just trying to work with a hard nosed supplier or is he correct? |

? # 1 ?
Tell us the history of the repair. If the old OBC did not work and the new OBC is not working. Perhaps the problem is not the OBC ? |

He went to a local cart shop and got a new one and cut the end off cable and pushed it through with no problems? After installing new end on cable the (NEW) OBC didnt work and he took it back after cutting end off cable again and ran into warentee problems. Now his cable is too short to have another new end installed and the OBC still doesnt work and he sure isnt going to buy another one? Needless he is real mad and wished he had never touched the cart at all. He is out the price of the new wiring and a new OBC and is worse off than before. I must mention that I live in an age 60 and up park that is almost all retired people like myself and we cannot afford to blow what little is left of our retirement funds after the crash this last year. |

Check your wireing and double check the direction of the wire going through the OBC as it is directional. Then check the fuse in the red wire (if it has one). Goes to the solenoid.

Re: 1997 Club Car 48 Volt OBC
All wiring checked out ok. We compared his 1997 with my 1996 and the wiring checked out correct. He got a ( USED ) OBC from friend and its working correctly.
HIS MAIN AND ONLY PROBLEM WAS THAT THE CART PARTS SUPPLIER WONT WARENTEE THE NEW OBC THAT IS DEFECTIVE FOR SOME REASON?? |

Re: 1997 Club Car 48 Volt OBC
I have ran larger cable threw the obc and have drilled them out ever so slightly, they work fine, so something else might not be hooked up right,
