Problems with Brake Lights
I installed a light kit on my 2013 Precedent. All lights work well, to include the turn signal functions. However, I am having issues with the brake light function. I located the 3 wires under the floor mat and connected them to the brake light switch and fuse reset. This problem is, I don't have 12V coming thru the orange or blue wire. Any recommendations?

Re: Problems with Brake Lights
You need to make sure you have the relay installed behind the dash that powers those wires when the cart is placed in run mode.

Re: Problems with Brake Lights
Thanks! When you say "run mode", are you referring to the key being in the on position, or the cart in forward/reverse? The relay is hooked up and all other lights are working fine (headlights, tail lights and turn signals).

Re: Problems with Brake Lights
The relay we are talking about is in the dash and it gets activated when the key switch is turned ON.
Look at this post for a picture more details: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...ml#post1248540 |

The relay is installed and all wires are in the correct place.

Re: Problems with Brake Lights
Then you can easily verify if the relay is clicking when you turn the key switch ON.
One of the 1/4" quick connect will have +12v all the time and the other 1/4" quick connect will have +12v when the relay clicks. The 3/16" quick connects will get +48v when the key switch is ON. |

Re: Problems with Brake Lights
Thanks! Is the relay solely used for the brake lights, or does it play a role in the operation of the other light functions?

Re: Problems with Brake Lights
It was explained in the post/thread I linked in more details, but it is only used for the brake lights and then only needed if your +12v source does not turn OFF with the key switch.

Re: Problems with Brake Lights
Thanks for all the great advice. It was the grey wire with bullet connectors that was unplugged causing the relay not to get power. Thanks again.
