Cart & Battery Storage

We've just purchased a Club Car 06 Precedent. Will be storing in South Texas while return home for the summer months (stored for 7 months approx.). Other than disconnecting the battery cable and shutting off the tow switch is there any other maintenance required for the batteries? Upon return will there be a problem charging the batteries?

If these batteries are gonna be in south Texas for 7 months WITHOUT benefit of being properly cared for I would suspect their life span will be considerably shortened. They will need distilled water when you return. Any chance they can be removed and stored in a cool cellar or basement?

Hello Jayne Wilson and Welcome to the forum.

I would leave the automatic charger hooked up and do not disconnect any wires or cables and flip the run/tow switch to tow.

The charger and OBC will look at, and check/charge the batteries every 16 days.

Still yet, with nobody to monitor the batteries or add water, it's anybodies guess as to what shape the batteries will be in upon your return, but keeping the batteries charged and not allowing them to run down is best.

One other solution might be to leave your cart with friends when you head north and who in turn will keep an eye on your cart by using and maintaining with a charge afterwards.

Jayne Wilson if you are in the ( DEEP ) south Texas area you should have someone that you can reley on to check the water every month and add ( DISTILLED WATER ) as needed while leaving the automatic charger hooked up. While I was building a new body for my club car I found that water in (NEW) batterys was needed during summer months? I live just north of Brownsville and the constant 95 degree weather will dry batterys up pretty fast.
