Help preparing cart for new motor/ differential maintenance
Started rebuilding my 2006 Club Car DS and its in rougher shape than expected.
Just got new aluminum put in for the battery trays, and working on motor today. Motor was stuck on pretty good. Was able to finally get it off of there. It doesn't look like the differential has been maintained. Opened drain and small trickle of oil came out...also lots of caked oil where motor attaches...do I need to open it up to clean it out? I haven't heard grinding...think i need to replace the seal? A far as the new motor install should I just clean up the caked oil and put on the new motor? Housing has lots of black, caked oil...should I attempt to clean out and does it need to be packed with grease? |
