Default Club car ds gas convert to electric. transaxle?

The club car I am looking at is a 1992 gas version. I want to convert it to electric for hunting purposes. I would like to know if the rear transaxle is the same on a gas car, as an electric? Did they just use a different adapter plate to attach the engine versus the motor?
Thanks for any help!

Welcome to BGW BBBHC!

On a 1992, the Kawasaki drive unit/transaxle/differential IS used for both electric, and gas carts... an electric motor should bolt right up in place of the transmission!
The problem with THAT conversion is... you'll need to make up a battery tray, buy a charger, batteries, motor, and literally ALL of the electric components to go with it!

For the amount of work and money? your better off just buying an electric cart!

In a 1992 yes, it's the exact same differential. Remove the transmission and you'll have a place to install an electric motor.

You are literally looking at $2000+ in electrical components ($1000 in batts alone if you don't have cores) plus a ton of customizing. For that money you will easily find a "ready to go" cart.

Thanks all! I figured it would cost more to convert gas to electric. It was offered to me for free, so I wanted to check into it before I gave a definitive answer.

TAKE IT!!!

Depending on the condition, and if it runs, with a little clean up, it could get you anywhere from $600 to $1200 for it!
(It would help finance an electric cart!)

Thanks lochman. I did take it. Drivetrain is toast, so ripping it out. Ends up they have another ds that is electric. I have not seen it yet, apparently it is quite hoop a jooped. They said I could take whatever off it I wanted. Going to golook at it soon.
