Default 2008 Club Car Keeps Blowing headlamp

Hello, looking for some help, I installed a light kit on my 2008+ club car. I turn lights on and it burns out the left head lamp then they all dont work. Tail lights stay on fine?? Im guessing i need a voltage reducer??even though when i bought they said i wouldn't need one. Its a 48v with 4 12v batteries. Like to draw the same off all batteries. Any suggetions im on a budget here to lol

You don’t need a reducer but you definitely should have one. Make sure you have the lights on only 12v. More than that will blow the bulbs.

I gather the headlights are incandescent / halogen bulbs and the tail lights are probably LED. We install almost all LED now but the Halogen sets we've gotten over the past few years have all had LED tail lights. Some of the LED's are made to be tolerant of a wide range of voltage (I've seen some 12 to 60 volt compatible) but the incandescent will become flashbulbs at 48 volts.

If you’re budget strained, buy a cheap 48v to 12v converter. Hook the input positive and negative to the pack 48v positive and negative. Hook the 12v output from reducer to the light kit harness positive and negative. Problem solved.
