Battery Cables

When replacing the battery cables should stainless steel nuts be used if they also need to be replaced?

That's what I used when I replaced my cables 2 years ago and the stainless nuts still look brand new. I do prop my seat open when charging the batteries for better ventilation.

Absolutely. If you ever buy new batts they come with the stainless as they won't cause you any corrosion.

If that nylon ever gets warm/hot enough to melt it could let the terminal get loose.

You would likely have bigger problems as nylon takes over 425 degree to melt...

Typically is best not to use fasteners that grab and apply force only to the battery stud as you turn them since it can loosen the stud.
