Club Car Voltage Reducer

Just picked up a 2012 48volt club car precedent. I have the VOLT-2003 48volt to 12volt reducer on order but my question is where should I mount it? There aren't metal surfaces within the battery well to mount.

I've mounted mine to the plastic tub with course threaded screws it seems to be holding just fine you could add some 3m double sided tape if your concerned.

Here, if this is your reducer. I have a reducer mounted close to there.

Any issues with the reduced getting hot? Saw a video about a mad Jax 16 volt to 12 volt reducer and company referenced that it got very hot, wonder if just specific to that brand

Mine gets hot but it's a 48v to 12v it also draws about .3 Amps constantly. Plan on putting it on a switch as it will be parasitic.

For a Precedent, buying the factory 48 to 12 reducer is the only way to go, plug and play and the unit itself is outstanding quality

Most people put aftermarket reducers for Precedents on the flat steel plate behind the front suspension. The diagram shows where I mean and the photo shows my reducer mounted there.

The beauty of the VOLT-2003 is the fact that you don't have to find somewhere to mount it. Club Car already did that homework for you. The VOLT-2003 is the factory style reducer, so it's designed to mount in the factory location. In the small metal cavity behind the front suspension mounted vertically. The holes are already there.

What’s the easiest way to access that location?

From underneath the car. Just jack up the front of the cart, lay on the ground and position the reducer into the existing holes and tighten up the two nuts.
