Default Issues with voltage

Ok I've got a 2000.5 DS series cart. Recently I've noticed that after a full charge, the voltage meter on the cart will read just over 51V. But as soon as I hit the throttle, it's dropping down to about 46V. It feels like it has lost a lot of torque and power. I tested all of the batteries and they are not losing power when a load is put on them.

Are there any suggestions of something else that might be wrong to cause an issue like this?

Thanks for any help.

Just a guess on my part, but the brushes in the motor could be worn or the batteries may be getting old, but you tested them.

As mrgolf stated, it is more so just a voltage drop from the age of the batteries. If it quickly recovers after initial acceleration and you are still getting the duration of run-time needed, it is not a problem....

If your running down the road, 46 volts is running voltage on fully charged batteries.

The batteries are probably 3 years old. It feels like I don't have the acceleration I had a while ago. The top speed is still the same at about 19MPH. I'm not sure how far the cart should be able to go before recharging is needed.

If those brushes are worn, is it best to say I need a new motor? I mean I can get a Bandit motor for like $300, which I could probably swap out is a few minutes, instead of taking the entire motor apart.

Before ordering a new motor, check all the connections at the batteries and controller. A loose connection in the power or motor circuits could be sucking the power down. Just a thought.

I think you simply need to clean your connections and take care of the batteries.

Have you been doing that since they were new?

Yeah, I clean the batteries and keep them full of distilled water.

I actually checked the speed today and I'm actually only about 17-18mph, when I used to get 19-20mph, only a few months ago.

Is a 48V cart with an upgraded D & D motor. Stock controller, mostly 2 gauge wires.
