Default 2003 electric club car slow.

I have a 2003 club car electric. When I put it on charge it takes about 3-5 hours to charge. When it has reached fully charge it goes about 12-16 mph. On the hills it goes even slower. What to do to change it? Should I buy a gas golf cart. How hard would it be to convert the one I have to gas and what would you have to change on it. It is for a campground.

I'd call PlumQuick.com and ask them what you could do with your cart. My 48 volt IQ does an easy 25+MPH, has more torque and the total cost to do all this was $300 with just a motor replacement which took less then 1 hour. Also I can go over 32 miles and still have a half full battery pack!

I ride mine all day and plug it in at night to charge, no pain involved at all. And I hope you're using distilled water when you need to add water to the batteries. Thats the pain you'll feel when you have to shell out for batteries every other year. I've never owned a gasser but I love the stealth of the electrics, also some campgrounds I know of won't allow gassers.

It is a 48 volt but I dont know what IQ is. On the foward and reverse there is no plug to change the braking or the speed.

What is the first 2 letters in your serial number:

AC= DS Electric Golf Car, 48 Volt Regen
AQ= Electric I.Q. Golf Car, 48 Volt Regen

As I stated in an earlier post, call PlumQuick.com and let them know what you have. If you do have an IQ 48 volt cart then for $300 out of pocket you could be doing 24+MPH with more torque. Either way they will let you know what you could do or expect. There are other vendors on this site that sell controllers, motors, etc. and they will also let you know what to expect for speed and torque with their motors or setups. All it takes is a couple of calls.
