Default 2002 DS Roof Supports

I am wondering the best paint and application method to paint my metal roof supports and make them look nice/new. Any suggestions on what works best?

I would use 320 grit paper and buff them up.
Clean them up with mineral spirits or a good soap wash.
Spray them with a good quality primer red or grey and then see what they look like.
Fix any issues and lightly sand with 600 grit.
Spray paint with a couple of light coats of good quality enamel paint.
You can go more coats just make them light. I hate paint runs...
I like a satin paint instead of gloss or flat and it would be black for me.

Are they aluminum or steel?
Think they were all steel on the standard carts by then.
Aluminum is more difficult to prep properly for paint.

they are steel - they are in good shape structurally, just looking to make them visually look better. Appreciate the recommendation

If they are steel. I would do as Raystar has suggested. Rustoleum makes a great paint for this. Look for "Automotive Rustoleum."

What would your recommendation be for prepping and painting the plastic roof?

If you must paint it. Do a search in here. Many have done it. They are tricky to hold paint. There are many differing opinions about how to do it and what to use.

I have not used a spray gun in many years so I picked up a lower end kit to practice with.
The roof will be my first real attempt before doing the body.
Lot's of info on here about painting these things with good success of I am in for it.
