Yep, that is definitely an '03 IQ cart. And now everything makes MUCH more sense...

I think your Powerdrive is working just as it should. The batteries are getting older and require a longer recharge period to give the pack back what was used. The OBC will count energy units and will put back 110%. When the charger first kicks on it should be pegged at 15a and then work its way down. 8-10 amps is about right for the bulk charging. Batteries getting hot and more gurgling is normal as they get older. The main thing is be sure the cables are all clean, the electrolyte levels are 1/4" and no more then 1/2" over the plates, and you let it complete a full charge.

If you get concerned, then monitor the pack voltage every few hours and it will rise as the charge goes up in the pack. 61-63 volts is common and can go as high as 65 vdc. Now at this voltage, the amperage should be very low as it is just topping off the charge.

P.S. You can tell the Ms's the cart is 11 years newer then y'all thought it was.....

OK. I went over to see JimmyMac this past weekend. We upgraded his cables to cables leftover from my lithium conversion. There's still a few to go but we'll get there. In the meantime, can you guys tell us if or what modifications were done previously to his cart? Just trying to get a ground zero so he knows where he stands.

First pic is controller. Curtis 250A.
Second pic is OBC.
Third is solenoid.

Are these all stock?

4th pic is what??? What the heck is this thing?
5th pic is motor. Is that stock? If not, is it a speed or torque motor?
6th pic is charger. I assume that this charger can only be used with an OBC.

I wish I had taken a pic of his MCOR. Wouldn't his cart have an MCOR 1 original? Is there a difference in looks between an MCOR 1 and an MCOR 4? I believe his cart can only have a 1 or a 4. Trying to determine which he has.

Thanks, everyone.

4th photo is a 16 to 12 volt reducer. All the other things look stock.

Thanks, mrgolf. I'll have to trace those wires. From when I was over there this weekend, it looked as if his lights were wired directly to two batteries.

The reducer is the negative side of the power to the lights. The positive comes off battery 5. The reducer has NO positive wiring.

And that is a new or refurbished Powerdrive I. That also has a replacement Sepex motor. That is a D&D made in December of 2006 and you have a 2002 cart.
