club car doesn't charge
I have a 2001 Club Car DS that will no longer charge with the Lester charger. The batteries, obc, and charger are good as well as all connections. Any ideas on what else to look for?

Re: club car doesn't charge
Jeff with all of the charging circuit components good we are going to need a little more information. Tell us what it is doing. Can you hear the relay in the charger click? Does the meter move? Does the backup alarm sound in reverse with the charger plugged in. Did you do anything in the battery compartment recently? What is your battery pack voltage? It could be you don't have a problem you just think you do. So let us/me know.

Re: club car doesn't charge
About three to five seconds after the cart is connected you can hear the charger start. This doesn't happen anymore. Now when the charger is connected, nothing at all happens. This cart has some missing components including the reverse buzzer. It has 4 12 volt batteries.
When this first happened, I had the charger tested and it was good. I replaced the obc but the results had not changed. The batteries were replaced earlier this summer. It had minimal driving. I now charge the cart by individually charging each battery on a regular trickle charge charger. |

Can you take a picture of the battery compartment and post it. Right now I suspect the red wire from the charger port isn't connected, but it could be anything. Check the water in the batteries just to be on the safe side.

Re: club car doesn't charge
Like Walt mentioned, and also check the 2 fuses. One will be in the yellow bullet connector and the other is mounted on the back of the charge receptacle where the 2 posts are. You can do a continuity check on them to verify their status.
