Default Change of batteries

I have been asked to replace 50+ batteries on our club car precedent 2015-2017 models with Eric chargers due to range diminishing severely. I have been given a quote from our club car distributor of £257.54 per battery. The batteries in the carts are PD+ 8V and i have shopped around for better prices. It seems i can get Trojan T-875's locally for £125 each, less than half the price of OEM. My concern is whether tis would be a simple swap out, or will i have to worry about the chargers algorithms? Any advice would be welcomed before i hit the buy it now button. I would normally go with OEM, but as we are replacing the fleet in the spring, the less i spend would be a huge bonus!

You should go with the better price. If they are genuine Trojans (which I assume would be the case) then there is absolutely no reason to pay more for the same batteries. The charger algorithm will be the same, as far as I know, because you are simply replacing like-for-like in the batteries.

I’d also definitely go with the Trojans. The PD+ Club Car batteries are nothing special. Made by another company and marked up by Club Car.

This recent thread starting at this post talks about changing the active profile on those ERIC from #31 (stock Johnson Control PD+) to profile #1 for Trojans.

A quick call to our distibutor and i was told, i can fit the trojans without changing the charger profile as they fit either PD+ or trojans from new depending on availability and customer preferences without altering the profile, so it looks like i am good to go and save a small fortune. Shame its not my money LOL

And many thanks to you all for such a quick response.

So I guess the PD+ batteries are basically Interstate batteries with a different name.

Mind you, i dont necessarily trust our distributor, so i will research some more and make a decision myself. I have looked at all the info and it does seem like trojans are listed with a particular profile, but maybe i did not look hard enough as i only saw one for T-105, i will have to look harder. or was it the disigned for T-105, may be suitable for others etc.

Do these Precedents use 8 6V batteries? Otherwise I would think you would be looking for T875 and not T105’s.
