Default 95 CC DS need some ideas

Hello everyone I wanted to say thanks for the help on a last post. I had posted about a strange noise in the rear end. Fixed that issue with the guide ring. So a little back story. I am an apartment maintenance tech and need to provide my own golf cart. I had found one that was running with good batteries at a local golf cart shop for $300. But it wasn’t pretty. It looked as if it was in a crash. So I struck a deal with one they where using for parts so I got 2 cc for $300. I used the parts car for the panels and utility bed. Scrapped that car as there was nothing else good on it. Now I am working on this cart and need some help on replacing the top. I need something more sturdy. Next thing would be the handle bars on the seat are missing the padding and I can’t find a replacement padding and it was painted blue it looks like garbage. Also need some ideas on mounting my ladder. Some future upgrades is fixing the front end it doesn’t go in a straight line the steering box has a lot of wear in it. A 3” loft with 12” tires need some clearance for when it snows in Colorado. And then last one is when all the tired and old bushing are replaced I am going for speed.

First thing I would do is get a set of stock seat backs/sweater basket/straps. All of that will come in handy and strengthen the top.

The top can be reinforced lengthwise with aluminum channel. Looks like it might already have it at the front.

If you can't find the old 2 piece seat backs (and mounts), the newer 1 piece will fit.

I was afraid to look after your description.... actually it's not too bad. Back in the day we used to make all sorts of homemade truck beds for the carts on the ranch and construction sites. Looks like you could remove the passenger side backrest and add a flat bed (with a low curb board) and then put the ladder in with the top extended into the unused seat area.

What exactly is sweater basket/straps

It does have some aluminum channel in the front but probably needs replaced

That’s a good idea but I need the seat

I don't have a way to post a photo right now, but there must be hundreds of photos of stock DS carts in here.

manwtn, look at my thread "Something Different." You will see what I am talking about.

But, it does not have the straps that hold the golf bags on the back. It is the new style DS Seat back/roof supports on an older DS. Bolts right up. The straps are handy for strapping just about anything to the back of the cart.

Thought you were a mechanic, not a design specialist.
