Default Motor comparability

I have a 1980 electric club car. Will a 36v motor from a 1996 ezgo txt swap ok?

whitey search in here for "Caroche." There have been several builds and restorations with lots of info about them.

I’d bet Plum Quick could rebuild your current motor.......

I'm sure they can, or somebody else as well. I wish the OP would chime back in because what he intends to do with it would factor in the decision.

Will he keep/restore the old resistor setup? Upgrade to a controller?

Does anybody know which motors will bolt up to that rear?
