Headlight wiring 03 DS
Just put batteries in my DS headlights seem a bit dim,
The red wire was going to the first battery which is 8 V none of the diagrams show factory light wiring that I can find online here, that circuit is always missing. Where should that red wire go if not the first battery. |

Hook the red wire to the next battery in series and run it at 16v.

Re: Headlight wiring 03 DS
I had the same issue with mine. The bulbs will have a shorter life span but twice as bright

Re: Headlight wiring 03 DS
Finally got a call back from the local Club Car dealer, he confirmed the same, 8v is a bit dim, move it to 16V on the second positive battery...

The reason I mention this is you tax those 2 batteries during the course of their life and it causes them to pre-maturely weaken or wear out. If you install a 48-12 converter, it will be evenly utilized across the entire pack. |

Re: Headlight wiring 03 DS
I don’t want to bring bad news- but I’d strongly advise not running them on two batteries. First of all it will kill your light bulbs and overheat the plastic, and second it is an uneven drain on the battery pack which is bad for your batteries.
Get a 48 to 12v reducer and do it right. You won’t regret it. Club Car DS driver’s club #59 |
