Default new batteries installed, thoughts on voltage stats

I have a 2005 CC DS 48V...just put in 6 new T875 batteries. Have done a couple rounds of golf, maybe 3-4 miles on top of that. It's been through 4 charge cycles, and one equalization cycle.

After the last complete charge, I waited one hour and checked the cross-pack voltage, getting repeated readings of 70.4 to 71.0. I checked the individual batteries, and got consistent readings of 12.4.

I was under the impression that good batteries usually gave readings of 8.4, or so. The 12+V readings are something I have not heard of. What thoughts do you battery gurus have?

Thanks for the info.

Jim

Are you 100% sure about that multimeter? There’s so many reasons why 70+ volts wouldn’t work...

Controller, charger, batteries themselves...

Perhaps the multimeter needs new batteries.

okay, I will check that. I thought the readings were goofy, so will try new batteries.

Make sure you check the stickies for the thread on "all about batteries" and do a proper battery break-in to get the most out of those Trojans.

Also, invest in a dash digital voltmeter. It'll be money well spent.
