Ok, from a discussion with Mr. David from Rev Carts, I'm going to hook up two LED light bars through a single throw double pole switch so each light pulls 24 volts for brightness. The lights are rated to 30v and if I were at the cart I'd just put a volt meter on the pack and see if I'm right but my brain won't shut down on this until I know. In order to pull two 24v supply to the lights and keep the pack balanced, are these hookups correct?

Excuse my ignorance, if you split the 48 volt pack into 2 (24volt) power sources to the light switch, would the hot side of the SPDT switch see 48 volts being a single pole? and when you flip the switch on would it throw 48 volts to each light being double throw?

I believe if the puts the two + and the two - together on the switch, he still gets 24V, but he gets more amps.....which is likely not necessary.....but they will be there.

I think if I were doing it I would use a DPDT sw and use one side for each light. This would avoid having different commons which could lead to problems.

The OP is planning on using a DPST switch. With each light string isolated on a different pole, it will work fine. HTH

If the OP uses a DPST (as shown in the diagram), which functions like two separate SPDT switches operated by the same actuator, then everything will be OK. This assumes that the two LED light bars are identical and one is not pulling a greater wattage than the other (or very close).

Thats the type switch I plan to use. I'll still have a 48 to 12 reducer for any other electronics, including the stock lights. The 24 volt idea came from Mr. David, one to balance the pack and two, to send more voltage to the lights for brightness. My cart came to me with the lights power feeding from the first battery in the series with what I thought was a reducer until I traced the wires out. I'm going to post a picture of what is a grounding box of some kind. It has a single wire going to the B- of the controller on one end and with a terminal block with spade connectors for grounds from the other end.

Why not just wire the lights in series instead of parallel. Each light will still see 24 volts
