Default Troubleshooting - 2013 club car DS

Hey guys-

Decided to take my cart to the family ranch for a few weeks for deer season. Went to open the front seat up and had a wrench hit the positive main battery pack terminal [emoji1750]*[emoji3603]. Saw a small spark and had the wrench hit the ground. Put cart in tow and disconnected terminal. Retightened and reversed cart and put in forward. I’ve had the cart charging for 2 hours now. But, now my charger will not turn off. Did I mess up the OBC? Should I just let it go and see what happens? When I unplug the cart the batter light turns on for maybe a second...please let me know if more information is needed.

Thanks!

What else did the wrench hit? Touching one terminal won’t hurt anything, it’s what the other end of the wrench touched that might do the damage.

2 hours on charge doesn’t necessarily mean anything is wrong. You unhooked the batttery pack which resets the OBC charge memory. It’s doing a preliminary charge to determine pack condition, so it’s charging by measuring voltage and amps, not by what info it had previously stored. Many people here disconnect the battery to reset the OBC on purpose and start with a fresh charge cycle.

Great news. I’ll let her sit. Up here at the barn so nothing else to do. It literally hit the positive terminal of the main battery and sparked, then ground..the charger is reading 5 amps and still running. I have the 5 second pause and click when plugged in on the charger.
