Default Info on relative usable time/distance on battery

Since I don't have a meter mount in DS yet, I need an idea of the relative use/time of battery. Fully charged with surface charge removed, it read 50.7volts. Rode about 5 miles on relative flat ground, 3/4 distance nearly wide open, other time slow for 30 min. Came back and read 49.1volts. How low can the volts go before stopping? And best guesstimation of how for in time/distance would that be?

Assuming the batteries are healthy. And the cart is stock with 1 or 2 riders;
Fully charged it should give about 100 minutes of actual pedal (run) time.
If you average 10 mph that is about 15 miles.

And try not to run below about 48.4v as that is 50% and about the lowest you want to run FLA batteries....

They will run till they are dead, but over time it will severely shorten their life.

Now THAT is confusing. To my simple mind if 48V is half, then 96V would be 100%, but it is a 48V system to begin with and mine started out at 50V???

This attachment will help you understand - it is the SOC (State Of Charge)..... Just like your 12v car battery runs at 12.7 volts and is because 12.73v is a fully charged 12v battery.

BigOL; if you haven't already, I suggest reading through Everything to do with batteries!

It'll give you a better understanding on how deep cell golf cart batteries work and how to get the most out of them.

I like Scotty's color chart ... it has some good guidance on it.

I was wondering about distance and time I would have before I get to that 50% charge point. I camp 3.5 miles from the nearest golf course and the terrain of the road & golf course is a little hilly. I've tested the speed of the cart at 15mph max on flat ground. The batteries are 1 year old and always kept in a good charged state. Do you think that a cart with a standard motor, carrying 500 lbs. plus golf clubs should be able to travel to the golf course, play a round of golf and travel back to the campground without dying ?
